Pixel Puzzles Mosaics is a puzzle game that is in the Pixel Puzzles. However this game unlike every other game in it series is radically different. Primarily because isn’t a jigsaw but rather a move the pieces on a board puzzle game. Whilst it isn’t bad that the game has changed the puzzle itself from a jigsaw to a move the pieces across the board puzzle. This game is appalling for many reasons.
The general design for this game is flawed on many levels. Firstly this game is a move the tiles across a board to build a picture. Although the general premise of the game seems to be decent. However the development of the game is poor. For starters this game will put you in a puzzle that you have selected. Although you can see what the image is in the menu before you click on it. In game it is a different story as there is only one way to find out what your image looks like.
To find out what your jigsaw looks like you will use the preview option. This will show you an image of what the completed puzzle will look like. Having the preview option is handy as it will help you out in many instances. Especially at the start if you have no correct pieces. But after a while the game becomes a chore since you have to keep checking how the puzzle looks like and where you are up to.
You can also find out what piece(s) are correct you have to click on the highlight option to show you the correct pieces. All the correct pieces will be in colour; however any wrong pieces will have a cross in them. Whenever you find a piece that is correct you will have to click on it to see where a correct piece is located. Also if you get a piece in the correct place the game will allow you to move it.
As a result of the design of the puzzles this game will have you checking the highlight option often. You will inevitably end checking it every time you move a piece to the correct/incorrect places. This does become annoying as you can’t play the game as a puzzle game. However you can complete puzzles this way but it is a dull and repetitive experience to do so. Playing the game in this way is like picking number locks when you don’t know the code. Even though you can pick the lock it does get boring. As you have to pull the lock every time you have tried a new number (the games equivalent of the highlight option). After a while you will either succeed by getting the correct code or you give up.
This game is unfinished and has dismal amount of technical options. Whilst the game is in good working orders as it does function properly and doesn’t crash. This game does lack any options to change anything except to reset data and whether you have full screen on or not. The achievements in this game aren’t properly named. Whilst a lot of them are named correctly, some such as candles and jelly bears don’t have their respective puzzle names on.
There aren’t any options to change audio levels or anything else that you would expect with even the most basic of games. I also don’t like the fact that you cannot change this. Since the background music in the game is bad. In the menu while selecting your puzzle it plays a gentle guitar tune that is short and bland. In the puzzles themselves it will play water effects. This is distracting as it makes you want to use the toilet.
Image wise you expect that the game would have a decent selection of images. However there are 34 puzzles to choose from. The images on offers are very much a pick and mix of various stock images. There is a decent range of images on offer from animals through to pasta. I also noticed that some images aren’t photo shopped properly, the candles image (as seen above) is a perfect example of this. As you can see that it isn’t properly photo shopped. One example of this is pieces K4/5 as it creates an edge where it has been pasted over a darker background.  When you are working on the image it will become much more noticeable than looking at the image at a first glance.
Considering the state that Pixel Puzzles Mosaics is in. I cannot recommend Pixel Puzzles Mosaics to anyone as the game is unfinished. Furthermore this game is short and after a while it becomes a chore to play on.
