World of Guns: Gun Disassembly is a free to play interactive encyclopaedia. As the title of this game suggests the game predominately features the engineering aspects of guns. This game features models from various eras and styles. Models range from historical firearms such as flintlock pistols through to modern day machine guns. There are also other models to play with including motorbikes and skeletons of various animals. To add to this, the game offers various in game firing ranges. That provides players with the option of shooting some of the guns featured in this game.
This game is also constantly updated so there is no shortage of content on offer. However, a majority of the models in game are locked behind experience earned in game. To add to this many models also require credits (an in game pay wall). Although, you can buy a lifetime pass to skip buying the credits for each model individually. Alternatively, you can grind the credits through various methods such as earning trophies from completing the models and completing the daily quiz for 30 days straight.
Whilst I think that the game is fun. However it is to be noted that the game is predominantly focused on model assembly/disassembly. When the game is played in the standard mode the game will show you a simple tutorial explaining what to do in each part. Firstly, it will show you how to strip the model to each individual part of item. Secondly the game will then show you how to rebuild it. If you are building a firearm it will show you various functions of the weapon chosen. Including functions such as switching fire modes, loading magazines and even using the firearm. You can even put various attachments onto it such as a silencer or scope.
On the main game mode(s) that this game offers. Which are unlocked after completing the tutorials before the game mode is unlocked. The game will not provide you with any hints on what to do. Even though to many this will seem like a big jump. However, it isn’t as daunting as it seems as essentially it is the game tutorials all put together. Gameplay wise it plays out essentially isn’t dissimilar to an interactive 3d jigsaw. Since each part of the model is an individual piece of the puzzle. Which you then have to attach to other pieces that when completed go onto the model.
However, if the sole reason you are playing the game is to play on the firing ranges. I would recommend that you just buy the lifetime pass. I say this because you will need to earn credits to unlock the firing ranges. Doing this will take at least a couple of days, weeks or even month’s to earn the credits required to unlock all the ranges.
With regards to the length of the game I wouldn’t really say that this game is specifically long or short. Primarily because you would only play it for however long you wish to play it. Obviously this is based on what models you would like to do in game. As well as any objectives you have in playing the game. But if your objective is to complete every model the game offers. Then this is a game that you will be playing for a very long time. Even the base version of the game without extra vehicles/skeleton models has plenty to offer.
Personally I think it would be cool if there was more content for vehicles and skeletons sections. However, I would like it if the vehicle/skeleton sections of this game had its own game. Â Instead of the vehicles/skeletons being a side attraction to the main game. I also think that it would be beneficial for the other categories to have more content added to them. Especially the skeletons as there are no copyright issues for the developers to deal with. It is also easy to make content for as there is a wide selection of animals/creatures that the developers can choose from.
Overall I generally recommend World of Guns: Gun Disassembly for anyone who wants to play an in depth educational/puzzle game. I would also extend this recommendation to anyone with an interest in engineering, firearms, history or science. Primarily due to the variety of content it offers. But if you are unsure as to what the game is like. I would at least try the game the first as the game is free to play after all. Then once you get a sense of the game to know what this game offers. Then you know before buying the lifetime pass/other content for the game. Since you will either love or loathe the game.
